About
Pride in Federal Service (PFS) is a nonpartisan organization that supports LGBTQIA+ current and former federal employees, contractors, fellows, interns, retirees, allies, and more, in every corner of the federal workplace. There is no cost for membership.
We pride ourselves on building LGBTQIA+-centered community at all levels so together we can accomplish what we cannot alone.
Community
Monthly Membership Meetings: We host monthly membership meetings to connect members, provide updates on matters impacting our community, and provide a forum for discussion.
Community Support: If you have a problem in the federal workplace, PFS can be an excellent resource for help. Many PFS members have had to deal with similar problems and can suggest strategies or avenues for navigating them.
Subgroups: PFS also supports active subcommittees, such as the Gender Expansive and Transgender (GET) working group, which connects members with useful resources and a beloved community.
Social Events: We organize and host occasional events to provide members with an opportunity to engage with one another.
Resources
Resource Sharing: PFS develops resource guides on various topics important to our members, such as our annual guide on FEHB benefits on gender affirming care and family planning, and information about LGBTQIA+ individuals in public service.
Speakers Bureau: Our speakers bureau maintains a constantly growing list of qualified and engaging speakers on various topics, LGBTQIA+ related and more. We leverage our network to host interesting and timely speakers at our monthly general membership meetings, and can assist internal and external agency employee resource group members connect with speakers with lived experiences and a wide range of expertise.
Connection
Partnerships: PFS is known as the anchor of federal LGBTQIA+ groups, affinity groups, and NGOs that focus on LGBTQIA+ individuals in public service. We also want to form partnerships with other organizations that support other marginalized identities.
If you are not already connected with us, please reach out via our contact page.
Agency connections: Many LGBTQIA+ individuals in public service do not even know they have an LGBTQIA+ ERG or external organization for further agency-specific support. PFS connects our members to these groups and other LGBTQIA+ folks within their own agencies.
